Join Nonprofit Montgomery for our virtual meeting with Montgomery County and nonprofit leaders for opportunity to hear updates on funding, advocacy, and other topics important to our sector.

We’re excited to have Maryland Center on Economic Policy’s President and CEO Benjamin Orr present on what nonprofits can do about state level advocacy.

We’ll learn what’s in the state budget and why it matters to you, get an overview of the new state budget process and who makes decisions about how to use our shared resources, and gain tips on how you can engage with state policymakers to help shape budget decisions.

The Community Advocacy Institute (CAI) is a free program that includes monthly workshops featuring guest speakers, activities to practice advocacy skills, and networking opportunities. Successful completion of the program includes attendance at all monthly workshops and completion of an advocacy project (testifying before County Council or submitting a letter to County Council). This year’s program includes mostly virtual workshops and a few in-person sessions. Apply by August 26.

Early Learning Educator Compensation Survey

Virescent Group is partnering with Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day and MMF, to survey Greater Washington early learning organizations to understand the current state of early learning compensation. The goal of the survey is to:

  • Understand and develop potential strategies associated with transforming the early care and education workforce
  • Ensure adequate compensation and professional development opportunities
  • Address the challenges of recruiting and retaining a ready and qualified workforce

They are asking both early learning administrator and educators to complete the brief 2022 Greater Washington Early Learning Survey by Friday, June 24. Everyone who completes the survey will be (1) entered to win one of five $50 Amazon gift cards with winners announced at the end of June and (2) receive a summary of the 2022 survey findings at the end of July.

This grant provides $250,000,000 in funding support for target hardening and other physical and cyber security enhancements as well as activities to eligible nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist attack.
