County’s Report on Maternal and Infant Health

County health officials released the first Report on Maternal and Infant Health for the County. The report includes information and data on maternal and infant health topics in the county and the Department of Health and Human Services role in providing education and services to reduce adverse pregnancy-related outcomes and improve maternal and infant health among county residents.

2019 Respite Resource Fair for Family Caregivers

Are you caring for a frail senior citizen or a child/adult with disabilities? Learn how unpaid, live-in, primary caregivers can get short-term, occasional relief from their caregiving duties and other support. Meet potential respite care providers and learn more about how respite care works. The Fair is on Saturday, March 23 at The Activity Center at Bohrer Park, Summit Hill Farm Park, 506 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg. The event is FREE is open to everyone.

FY2020 Maryland Census Grant 
The Maryland Department of Planning is administering a grant program for nonprofits and local jurisdictions for activities designed to support successful enumeration and data collection efforts during the 2020 Census. Grant awards will range from $25,000 to $250,000. Grantees are required to provide a dollar-for-dollar match, which may be either cash or in-kind.

The Census Grant Panel will award grants to eligible applicants to conduct census outreach activities throughout Maryland to accomplish the following goals:

  • Ensure a fair, accurate and inclusive census count for Maryland.
  • Increase the self-response rates of hard-to-count communities and populations in Maryland.

Priority will be given to projects that focus on hard-to-count communities and populations in Maryland, as defined in the Program Guidelines.
