Apply to the Community Advocacy Institute

The Community Action Board’s Community Advocacy Institute provides County residents with the opportunity to learn and utilize basic advocacy skills. Participants must attend monthly workshops and complete an advocacy project (testifying before County Council or submitting a letter to County Council) in order to graduate from the program. This year, the program will include virtual workshops, in-person outdoor networking events, and in-person testimony practice sessions. Participants must be Montgomery County residents with a combined household income of $57,000 or less. Applications are due August 20.

Survey of Nonprofit Organizations’ COVID Response for County’s After Action Report

The County’s nonprofits were an essential part of the pandemic response. Please help Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security capture what nonprofits did, and your lessons learned in terms of resources, staffing, communication, etc.

The information will be used by the County to develop an After Action Report that assesses the important role that nonprofit organizations played in the COVID response. Your responses will help inform the County and improve future emergency responses.

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. Please take the time to document your essential role in the County’s pandemic response. The deadline is Monday, August 16.

Healthy Montgomery’s Community Health Needs Assessment Due 7/30

Healthy Montgomery, the County’s local health improvement coalition, is asking local organizations to complete a survey to identify existing resources available in Montgomery County. The information collected will be used to address health concerns in Montgomery County, align and leverage resources, and create a Community Health Improvement Plan for Montgomery County. The information collected will be shared publicly and will be available on the Healthy Montgomery website.

Deadline Extended: MoCo Economic Development Grant for Nonprofits
The MoCo Economic Development Grant Program for Nonprofits will provide competitively selected grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000. The grant is for Montgomery County nonprofits with initiatives that align with one (or more) of the four identified priorities: (1) Minority Entrepreneurship, (2) STEM Education, (3) Research and Innovation Development, and (4) Small-Scale Manufacturing.

The application deadline has been extended. The new due date is July 23, 5pm and award notifications begin August 16. Click here for more info and to apply.

  • Open and available to provide child care services on the date the application is submitted, or
  • Temporarily closed on the date the application is submitted due to public health, financial hardship, or other reasons relating to the COVID-19 public health emergency, but commit to re-open to provide child care services no later than September 7, 2021.

Grant Period: August 6, 2021-March 6, 2022
Grant Awards Amounts: $15,000 base award and $300 per licensed slot
Grant Application Submission Deadline: August 6, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. EST
