Participants will meet one-on-one with an attorney who will draft, or review and update your nonprofit’s whistleblower and record retention policies and your conflict of interest policy and disclosure form. The attorney will also discuss with you the reasons the policies say what they do, and how best to implement them. Finally, the attorney will discuss with you some actions you can take now, so you know how to handle issues when they come up. The clinic is on June 26 from 10:30am-12:30pm at Morrison & Foerster.

The Healthcare Initiative Foundation (HIF) awarded $523,000 in FY19 Capacity Building Grants to support 16 nonprofits in the County working to provide high-quality, comprehensive, and sustainable healthcare.These grants are projected to impact 104,841 Montgomery County residents, and build capacity of the healthcare network by generating a projected $550,260 in additional revenue. Community Conversation on Racial Equity and Social Justice
Council President Navarro and County Executive Elrich will host a Community Conversation on Racial Equity and Social Justice on June 26 at 7pm at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown. The purpose of this discussion is to engage with residents on how county leaders can build a better and stronger Montgomery County that meets the needs of all residents through the creation of a new Racial Equity and Social Justice Policy.

The Resilience Fund, a funding collaborative at the Greater Washington Community Foundation released an RFP for the 2020 Census for outreach, and direct assistance focused on hard-to-count communities. Grant awards may range from $5,000-$20,000 and online applications are due by July 29.

The Office of Community Partnerships is leading 2020 Census outreach efforts in Montgomery County and is hosting a discussion with leaders from the nonprofit community on July 11 from 5-6:30pm at the County Executive Office. The purpose is to provide information on the 2020 Census, discuss education and outreach strategies and specific messaging around the citizenship question in anticipation of the SCOTUS decision to be announced at the end of June.
As nonprofit leaders, we play a critical role in the County’s 2020 Census Campaign. Come and learn about the resources available for nonprofits to engage in the census. RSVP to Jennifer by June 28.
