AIM Award – Call For Applications

The Center for Nonprofit Advancement announces the call for applications for the Advancement in Management (AIM) Award Competition. This annual award is presented to a local nonprofit for achievement in organizational management. One winner will receive a $20,000 cash grant, national recognition, and sector exposure. Up to two honorable mentions will receive a $2,500 grant award and feedback from a selection committee of seasoned experts. Equality Salon, February 20

The National Woman’s Party is hosting an Equality Salon on February 20, 6pm for a conversation with the leaders behind the DC Rape Crisis Center, Friends of Guest House, the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project, and A-SPAN. Discussion topics include the barriers to running a successful, women-centered nonprofit in the nation’s capital and the strategies, tactics, and best practices for serving the local community. Click here to RSVP.

Montgomery County Recreation Job Fair, February 17

Montgomery County Recreation is a job fair to showcase the summer employment opportunities, including many for teens. It will be on Saturday, February 17, from noon to 3pm at the East County Community Recreation Center, 3310 Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring. Interested applicants should bring resumes and be prepared for speed interviews. Available positions include lifeguards, TeenWorks, and summer camp staff. The part-time/seasonal pay is competitive at $11.50 an hour, and it increases based on experience.

Table for Ten: Executive Directors of Small and Emerging Nonprofits

This Table for Ten is for Directors of small and emerging nonprofits (budgets under $750,000.) Join your peers to share your challenges, learn about resources, and build a supportive network of nonprofit colleagues.

Tables for Ten meet three times for candid, confidential facilitated conversations and problem solving. As opposed to a formal presentation, the purpose is to learn from and support each other.

Participants must commit to attending all three meetings. Seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis with priority for Nonprofit Montgomery member organizations.
