Marlana Valdez, Leadership Coach and Consultant
Marlana is an organization development consultant specializing in leadership development, international and cross-cultural issues, and law. She works with organizations to improve leadership effectiveness, enhance work processes and employee morale, and create strategic plans focused on systemic reform.
Marlana specialized in family, children’s and women’s legal issues during her teaching career at the law schools of American University, George Washington University, and Georgetown University.
Marlana is a member of the faculty at the Key Leadership Program at American University’s School of Public Affairs and served for four years as the Independent Juvenile Justice Monitor for the state of Maryland. She received both her JD and BS degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Fellow at Georgetown University’s Center for Juvenile Justice Reform. She has a certificate in Organization Development from Georgetown University and is completing her coaching certification with the International Coach Federation.
