Montgomery Moving Forward Program Manager (part-time)

Nonprofit Montgomery seeks a part-time (20 hours per week) entrepreneurial Program Manager to support the organization’s Montgomery Moving Forward initiative.

Montgomery Moving Forward (MMF) leverages the Collective Impact model to address complex community problems. MMF brings leaders from the nonprofit, philanthropy, business, education and government sectors together to define a problem and embrace a common agenda. The issues MMF focuses on are selected strategically, based on community needs and the opportunity to achieve systems change utilizing the Collective Impact model. MMF’s current issue is Early Care and Education.

Nonprofit Montgomery, Montgomery Moving Forwards’ backbone organization, is an alliance of nonprofit leaders in Montgomery County and serves as a network, information resource and advocate for our County’s nonprofit sector. We work together to improve the quality of life for all residents of Montgomery County, where the nonprofit sector includes hundreds of organizations that serve more than 500,000 residents and provide more than 43,300 jobs.

Key Duties:
• Independently develop and manage defined aspects of Montgomery Moving Forward’s array of Collective Impact activities (including current Early Care and Education work)
• Work in concert with the MMF team to plan and implement Montgomery Moving Forward meetings, events, and community-based activities.
• Assist in the management of MMF’s committees, including working with volunteer leadership to establish agendas, produce necessary materials, document meeting decisions and ensure meeting follow up.
• Write and oversee the design of MMF materials, including fact sheets, enewsletters, and policy documents.
• Participate in fund development, including grant writing, corporate and individual gifts.
• Represent the organization/initiative at meetings and events with key stakeholders
• Assist in developing and tracking metrics to evaluate progress on Montgomery Moving Forward’s priorities
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The strongest candidates will exhibit the following competencies and experiences:
• Experience and demonstrated success in program development, implementation and evaluation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
• Technologically savvy including familiarity with Salesforce, Google suite, Mailchimp applications.
• Good strategic thinker with ability to operationalize a vision.
• Ability to collaborate, work in teams and juggle multiple deliverables.
• Strong interpersonal skills that include the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Experience in the nonprofit sector and an understanding of issues related to the sector and its community partners.
• Grant writing, research, and data analysis skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Familiarity with the culture of Montgomery County preferred.
• This position requires flexible availability including early mornings.

Application Process:
The position is based in Rockville, MD and there is some flexibility with respect to telecommuting and work schedule. We have a professional and friendly work environment.

This is a 12 month grant-funded position. Continuation is contingent on the availability of funds. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include paid vacation, holidays and sick leave and flexible scheduling. Anticipated start date is late summer/early fall 2019.
